When your home's sewer line is clogged or obstructed, call in our experts for local sewer line cleaning.

If your main line has been cabled twice in the last year and it is slowing again, the plumber did nothing wrong. A cable cuts a hole through a blockage and gets the water moving, which is often all a line needs. What it leaves behind is the grease, soap scale and sediment coating the inside of the pipe, and that coating is what catches the next thing going down the drain.

Hydro jetting attacks the coating. At Reimer, we clean drain and sewer lines with water at pressures up to 4000 PSI for homeowners and businesses across Buffalo and Erie County, with plumbers working in Rochester, Hamburg, Cheektowaga, Albany, Syracuse and communities throughout Upstate New York. On a four inch lateral coated in years of kitchen grease, the difference in restored capacity is the difference between a pipe that drains and a pipe that drains for years. Here is what you get when you call us about a recurring drain problem:

  • A sewer camera inspection before and after the jetting.
  • Residential and commercial kitchen lines, Day or Night.
  • Upfront pricing approved before we start.
  • A 100% satisfaction guarantee on every job.

What Does Hydro Jetting Do That Drain Cabling Cannot?

The nozzle throws water forward to break up the obstruction and backward to pull the hose through the line, flushing loosened material toward the main and scouring the pipe wall as it travels. A cable restores flow through the middle of a blockage. Jetting restores the pipe.

That is also why we sometimes cable first and jet afterwards on the same visit. Clear the line so water can move, then clean the walls so the next clog has nothing to grip.

When Do Homes in Buffalo and Erie County Need Hydro Jetting?

Three conditions common in this housing put a line on the jetting list rather than the cabling list.

The first is cast iron. Homes across Buffalo, Lackawanna, Kenmore and the older parts of Cheektowaga and Tonawanda still run cast iron stacks and laterals. Cast iron corrodes from the inside and builds a rough scale that narrows a four inch pipe to two and grabs everything passing through it. Descaling with the jetter and a chain knocker restores the bore in a way no cable can.

The second is grease in a cold lateral. Sewer laterals here sit below a frost line around 42 inches, and cold pipe walls harden cooking fat faster than warm ones. Kitchen lines in older doubles and two-family homes, where two kitchens often share one stack, build up quickly. The third is roots. Where they re-enter a clay tile line every year after cabling, a root-cutting head clears more of the mass and cleans the joint face.

Book an inspection if you recognise any of this:

    • The main line has backed up more than once in two years
    • Several fixtures drain slowly at the same time, especially on the lowest floor
    • A cabled line runs well for a few weeks and then slows again
    • Drain odours return after the line has been cleared
    • Water rises in a floor drain when the washing machine empties

What is the Differrence Between Hydro Jetting and Drain Snaking?

For a single blocked fixture, a toy in a toilet or a hairball in a bathroom branch, a cable is faster, cheaper and correct. Jetting a branch line to clear a localised clog is overkill and we will say so.

Jetting earns its cost on main lines and repeat problems: when the blockage is grease, sludge, sediment or scale, when the clog keeps returning, when the camera shows buildup running the length of the pipe, and on any line serving a kitchen or a commercial premises. Pipe material, buildup type, length affected and cleanout access decide the rest, and straightforward drain cleaning remains the better value on a simple fixture clog.

What Happens During a Hydro Jetting Service

The sequence is the same on a Buffalo bungalow and an Albany restaurant.

    • Assessment. We check which fixtures are affected, review previous drain service, and find a working cleanout inside or outside the property.
    • Camera inspection. The camera locates the buildup, measures how far out it sits and shows the pipe material along with any cracks, offsets or bellies. A fully blocked line gets cabled first so the camera can pass.
    • Nozzle and pressure selection. Grease, sediment, roots and cast iron scale each call for a different head and working pressure. This is the step that separates a professional jetting from rented equipment.
    • Cleaning. The hose is fed through the cleanout and worked out to the main, then drawn back to flush loosened material downstream.
    • Flow test and second camera pass. We run the fixtures that were failing and camera the cleaned pipe, so you see the result rather than take our word for it.

Is Hydro Jetting Safe for Older Pipes?

Yes in a structurally sound pipe at the right pressure. No in a pipe that has already failed, and this region has plenty of the second kind.

Clay tile with open joints, fibre pipe from postwar builds that has deformed into an oval, and cast iron corroded through are all lines where high pressure water can turn a restriction into a collapse. That is why the camera goes in first. If your pipe will not take jetting, we tell you what it needs instead, whether that is a spot repair or sewer line repair, and we do not charge you for a service that would have made things worse.

Hydro Jetting for Restaurants and Commercial Kitchens

Commercial kitchen lines fail on a schedule, not by accident. Fats, oils and grease cool in the run between the three compartment sink and the grease interceptor and build until a Friday service backs up onto the kitchen floor.

We jet kitchen waste lines, grease interceptor discharge lines and floor drain runs for restaurants, taverns, schools and care facilities across Buffalo, Erie County and the Rochester, Syracuse and Albany areas. Most operators put the work on a standing interval and take an early morning or overnight slot so the kitchen never closes. Scheduled jetting costs a fraction of a shutdown, and it keeps the interceptor doing the job the municipality expects of it.

Hydro Jetting Across Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany

We jet drain and sewer lines throughout Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Hamburg, West Seneca, Orchard Park, Tonawanda, Grand Island, Williamsville and Niagara Falls. Our plumbers also cover Rochester, the Finger Lakes, Syracuse, Albany and the Capital Region.

Jetting is equipment-dependent work, and the housing across this area spans more than a century of pipe materials. Because we also handle the cleaning, the repair and the excavation that a jetting job sometimes uncovers, you are not left holding a diagnosis with nobody to carry out the work.

We have branches in Cheektowaga, Hamburg, Rochester, Clifton Park and Brewerton, so the plumber who jets your line works out of a location near you. Our call centre is available 24/7, and we offer Day or Night service when a line backs up outside normal hours.ating, Cooling & Plumbing today and keep your plumbing system operating safely and efficiently.
